3d Rendering of the Exterior in Lumion. Author Dmitry Donskov.
Introduction
Good day everyone! My name is Dmitry Donskov, I am an architect and partially a 3D visualizer from the city of Chelyabinsk (Russia). Working with Archicad / Lumion.
A few words about Lunion. This program is very simple, with a minimal number of buttons, settings and relatively fast rendering. There are truths and disadvantages in terms of setting materials, quality of vegetation and incorrect light, but in general it suits me.
I am very glad that I had the opportunity to share my skills and workflow with you on the example of my work "Brown house". Hope you find this tutorial helpful.

3D modeling
I started by developing the layout.


Next in Archicad I made a model of a house and a conventional plot.



As a result, the scene turned out to be rather small.
Then in Lumion I load the model made in archicad, in dae format. A special plug-in for exporting from archicad to lumion can be downloaded at the office. site lumion - https://lumion.com/
Setting up materials in Lumion
All materials are standard (I will show the main ones).




Some general scenes in which I check how the materials look.



Creation of trees and other vegetation
In this scene I only used standard 3d Lumion models..


Additional objects in the scene
In the scene, I used not many external 3d models, such as people, a car, a landscape lantern and a ball. All this can be downloaded from the free site https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/ , separately uploaded a disk to Yandex if someone wants to download https://yadi.sk/d/ba2BU9RnhgGX6Q

First you need an effect - Polyfoam

Leave the settings as default

Add the sun

Removing brightness

Add more sky and clouds

Next, you need to remove the overall brightness and brightness of the clouds, and lower the brightness of the sky as in the screenshot

You can also add contours

Twist the contour density as desired

All that was above is the basic settings that directly affect the rendering in sermat (like mine). The rest of the settings can be added according to the situation. Just in case, I'll add screenshots.

I created this scene on my PC with a ryzen 5 3600 with 32 gigabytes of RAM and rendered on an RTX 2070 super video card. This program uses the GPU (graphics processing unit) to render its scenes, so the main focus when building a workstation for Lumion is on the graphics card. There is almost no post-processing on renders. Just minor auto-correction.
