Architectural 3D Visualization of the project “House by the sea” not a complicated project, most of which was carried out using Forest Pack Pro, also used 3D scans of real objects and texture of the foreground texture.

This is how the scene looks from the camera.

The building model was made in Sketchup. Often have to face in the work on the visualization of architecture with models from Sketch Up, in most cases, the models from this program are suitable for visualization, but always require minor refinement. The main refinement of the model is to make Weld of all the vertices so that there are no gaps between the polygons of the object, as well as the removal of the extra edges left from the sketch. With a good and smooth topology, you can continue to work on texturing.

House model

Vegetation and elements of the environment. For the environment, a lot of 3D scans of such elements as stones, branches and small elements were used to create a realistic environment.

For scattering vegetation and elements, I use Forest Pack Pro. Setting it up for the environment is shown in the screenshot below. The main thing you should pay attention to is the setting of Rotation and Scale in the Transform section. Also the scatter settings themselves. They are in the Distribution section. This is the map by which scattering will occur.

As well as the value of Units, which allows you to set the density of vegetation. In this section there is another useful option Collisions. It allows you to set the radius between neighboring objects in the scatter. This allows you to control not only the density but also the realistic planting of trees, so as not to get two trees growing one from the other.

Not much about the scene materials:

Material for rocks with map Displacement.

Wood material for home

Wood material for vertical beams

Water material

The final render without post processing.

The most common question is how water was made. Basically, the water was made using Photoshop.

Fast water treatment

In 3Dsmax, the usual plane with the water material is mainly to get the Reflection and Refraction pass for subsequent work in Photoshop. In Photoshop from several images of the sea from drains, I used masks and received Vray passes, as a result such water turned out.

Render elements

The final rendering render took 1 hour at a resolution of 3840x2160 px. on the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X main work computer and 64 GB of RAM.
