It would have made more sense to have the open side of the little house face the back or the side, rather than the bridge leading to it. As it is, when you’re inside, you end up sitting there looking out at the bridge.

Звучит логично, спасибо. Изначально сцена делалась под фронтальный ракурс (со стороны пирса) и там даже не задумалась над этим вопросом.

In that case, it could have been made to go all the way through—with glass on the bridge and on the opposite side. It would have served as a sort of portal.

в корень.. на самом деле эти домики такими и есть - сквозными (в первоначальной задумке).
